Yiwu Customs recently reported that it issued 47,000 certificates of origin, including those under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, between January and February, amounting to a total value of $780 million and marking an impressive increase of 53.62 percent compared to the same period last year.

Chen Songming, from Yiwu Chengze Inspection Agency Co Ltd, highlighted the importance of the certificates in securing preferential import tariff rates for exports to ASEAN countries. He mentioned that their company has been efficiently processing around 500 various certificates per month, thanks to customs guidance.

To ensure widespread benefits from the RCEP policy, Yiwu Customs has been actively engaged in policy advocacy and support. Additionally, customs developed tailored guidelines to address specific issues faced by businesses, ensuring optimal utilization of trade preferences.

Yiwu Customs has also streamlined customs clearance processes through online applications and self-service printing of certificates, significantly reducing time costs for businesses. Currently, 92 percent of certificates are issued through self-service printing, which can print them in as fast as one minute.
