Yiwu's express delivery surges in first 2 months

Yiwu, renowned for its bustling markets, saw a significant uptick in postal and express deliveries in the initial two months of this year.

The total volume of the city's express deliveries reached 1.74 billion pieces, marking a substantial 21.9 percent increase from the previous year. The domestic deliveries within Yiwu dipped slightly by 10.8 percent, while shipments to other regions surged by 23.8 percent, totaling 1.65 billion pieces. International and cross-Strait deliveries also showed robust growth, up by 27.6 percent.

Over the same period, the total revenue generated by Yiwu's postal industry, excluding direct operating income from postal savings banks, amounted to 4.3 billion yuan ($597.31 million), indicating a year-on-year increase of 9.7 percent. Specifically, cumulative business income of express delivery service enterprises reached 4.21 billion yuan, reflecting a substantial 10.7 percent increase compared to the previous year.
