Many foreign traders in Yiwu have been in the city for more than 10 years and have fallen in love with it. Every Spring Festival, they join their Chinese friends to write and paste couplets, set off firecrackers, make dumplings, eat New Year's Eve dinner, watch the Spring Festival Gala, and feel the charm of Chinese traditional culture.

Ade, from Sudan, has been in Yiwu for more than 10 years. This year is his fourth Spring Festival with his family in Yiwu. He likes writing couplets and watching and performing cross talk.

During the first month of the lunar year, Ade also visited Chinese friends to offer New Year's greetings and receive red envelopes. The longer he stays in Yiwu, the more he loves traditional Chinese culture.

Hami, from Iran, has spent more than 20 years in China. He invited more than 20 guests, including Chinese neighbors and other foreigners, to his home to celebrate the New Year together this year. He and his wife prepared Iranian delicacies and Chinese traditional dishes for the guests.

Wu Aoshan, from Yemen, married his beloved Yiwu fiance last year. This year is the first time he went with his wife to offer New Year greetings and gifts to relatives and friends, receive red envelopes, and eat glutinous rice balls. He says it was as great experience.

"Chinese people work hard year-round. During the New Year, it seems like they press the pause button. The Spring Festival is really an interesting holiday. Everyone takes time off and focuses on spending time with their families," said Wu.
