Yiwu's Houzhai subdistrict celebrated the conclusion of its Mandarin language training program with a graduation ceremony on October 7.

The program, which spanned several weeks, brought together more than 20 students from countries such as Jordan, Yemen, Iraq, and Colombia for Mandarin language training. Over the course of the program, they attended more than 60 Mandarin language classes.

The Mandarin language program organized a comprehensive final examination. The students enthusiastically embraced the challenge, demonstrating their skills in various aspects of Mandarin language learning, including character pronunciation, quantifier usage, word formation, multiple-choice questions, fill-in-the-blanks, and sentence construction. All participants passed.

The Mandarin language training program addressed the language-learning needs of foreign residents while fostering friendly communication between Chinese and foreign residents.

The initiative has not only helped international residents better integrate into the local community but has also enhanced their sense of belonging and overall well-being, according to the organizers.

In recent years, Yiwu's import industry has experienced continuous growth. From January to September of this year, Yiwu achieved an import value of 48.97 billion yuan ($6.72 billion), marking a year-on-year increase of 52.8 percent.
