Yiwu in Zhejiang province engages in trade with 233 countries and regions. With over 500,000 foreign visitors arriving annually and 15,000 foreign entrepreneurs conducting business in Yiwu, disputes are, at times, inevitable.

At the service desk of the Yiwu International Commercial Legal Service Center (hereinafter referred to as the Business Law Center), two on-duty lawyers are ready to offer consultations to visitors.

Established in June 2021 and under the jurisdiction of the municipal bureau of commerce, the Business Law Center is the first county-level commercial legal service center in China.

The center primarily offers commercial legal services to Yiwu's foreign trade enterprises, including services such as processing certificates of origin, business certifications, commercial legal consultations, commercial legal mediation, commercial legal training, intellectual property, and tariff planning.

Duty lawyer Gong Han explains, "During the consultation process, we provide reasonable advice, and in cases where mediation is necessary, the consulting party must first fill out a legal consultation case registration form."

After the Business Law Center reviews and accepts the case, they assign mediators to facilitate a resolution based on the actual circumstances.

Officials from the municipal council for the promotion of international trade said that mediation saves time, is cost-effective, and preserves amicable relations. In the future, they will provide professional advice on related legal matters for enterprises.
