Following the implementation of China's optimized COVID response measures, many local businessmen in Yiwu, especially those involved in foreign trade, shared the latest information with overseas buyers and welcomed their visits.

Liu Junming, a shopkeeper at Yiwu International Trade Market Area 2, translated the major Chinese COVID-19 response policy shift in various languages, including English, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, and Azerbaijani, to share with his customers via WeChat.

Liu was optimistic about the new COVID management measures, which are expected to attract more foreign buyers to Yiwu.

Liu makes deals with more than 1,000 overseas customers every year, 95 of which have expressed a willingness to come to Yiwu to purchase goods as soon as possible.

An Afghan businessman with the Chinese name Jin Fei has been working in Yiwu for many years, mainly importing goods from Afghanistan to sell in China.

According to Jin, Saudi Arabia is one of the trade distribution centers of made-in-Yiwu products in the Middle East region and one of Yiwu's most important export markets. Jin plans to visit Saudi Arabia to look for business opportunities soon.

In order to improve the business environment for foreigners, Yiwu's latest initiatives to deepen the comprehensive reform of services for foreigners were implemented on Jan 1.

With the continuous optimization and adjustment of epidemic prevention and control measures, the number of resident foreigners in Yiwu now sits at 10,000, and the number is still rising.
