Yiwu in East China's Zhejiang province hosted a signing ceremony for nine key projects with a total investment exceeding 17 billion yuan ($2.49 billion) on Jan 4.

The projects cover various emerging industries such as new energy, high-end manufacturing, modern logistics, and business services. Four of them will receive more than 1 billion yuan in investment, while one will received over $100 million in foreign investment.

United Arab Emirates global port operator Dubai Ports World agreed to deepen cooperation with Yiwu in order to help the city develop into a commercial and service-oriented national logistics hub and expand the siphon effect of Yiwu's comprehensive logistics depression.

As one of the largest seaport terminal operators in the world, Dubai Ports World has cooperated with Yiwu to build the first overseas branch of the Yiwu China Commodities City in the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai.

In addition, five projects funded by photovoltaic and new material enterprises such as Jiangsu Meike Solar Technology Inc will be carried out in Yiwu to help complete industrial chains and drive the development of Yiwu's advanced manufacturing industry cluster.

In 2022, 47 major projects will be carried out in Yiwu, including 19 high-end manufacturing projects on photovoltaics, new energy, and chip semiconductors and 28 projects related to logistics, commerce and other trade and basic supporting projects.
