Yiwu small commodities markets have received more foreign buyers in recent days.

Wang Gensheng, a hardware tool seller in Yiwu International Trade market Area 2, said he has received about seven groups of overseas buyers from many countries, including Pakistan, Palestine, Yemen, and Jordan in December.

Official data shows that more than 10,000 permanent foreign businessmen currently live in Yiwu, 30 percent less than before the pandemic.

Wang has an old Palestinian business partner who has not been to Yiwu for three years due to the COVID-19 epidemic. They kept in touch with each other and do business online.

With the gradual optimization of epidemic prevention and control measures in China, the Palestinian was able to come to Yiwu by air in December. He talked with Wang and made a 500,000-yuan ($71,805.46) order for products such as glass locks, top clips, glass knives, and door handles.

The Palestinian said he was optimistic about foreign trade in the future, adding that small commodities from Yiwu are popular in his country.

A delegation from China Zhejiang China Commodity City Group Co visited Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates at the end of November to explore overseas markets.

The delegation visited local companies and markets to learn about the demands of customs there and shared their findings with merchants in Yiwu.
