3 Yiwu villages listed as provincial 'future villages'

Three administrative villages in Yiwu were included on the second list of "future villages" in Zhejiang province, according to a recent announcement from the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
The three villages are Longtouzhu village in Yiting town, Lizu village in Houzhai sub-district, and Fenshuitang village in Chengxi sub-district.
According to the "Guiding Opinions of the General Office of the People's Government of Zhejiang Province on Future Rural Development", the term "future village" refers to a village focusing on humanism, ecology, and digitization and featuring a rich local culture and nostalgic atmosphere.
Efforts will be made to build a new rural community featuring futuristic elements that highlights the charm of the Jiangnan region by integrating future industries, health, low carbon emissions, and digital living.
Longtouzhu village in Yiting town covers an area 2.8 square kilometers, while the arable land area exceeds 4,200 acres. Longtouzhu village is famous for its brown sugar, which was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage item in 2014.

Lizu village in Houzhai sub-district has attracted many makers from home and abroad to develop a new type countryside based on its rural tourism attractions and promote a slow-paced lifestyle to visitors.
Fenshuitang village in Chengxi sub-district is an internet-famous scenic area for red tourism. Visitors can also experience traditional intangible cultural heritage items and handicraft activities, including plant dyeing, paper cutting, bamboo weaving, straw weaving, and wood carving at the Baigongfang Research Base in Fenshuitang village.
