The third Zhejiang International Friendship Cities Exchange Exhibition was held at the Yiwu International Expo Center on Nov 24.
Sponsored by the Zhejiang People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the local government of Yiwu, the exhibition received strong support from many cities in the province, as well as from embassies and consulates in China.
Representatives from 18 provinces and cities and 15 countries including South Korea, Japan, Canada, and Vietnam took part in the event.
The exhibition introduced unique products, industries, and investment environments of cities around the world, aiming to promote economic communication and cultural exchanges between cities.
The exhibition area also displayed fine photography works by expats in Yiwu and the World Organization of United Cities and Local Governments. A special event allowing people to taste drinks made of coffee beans from a variety of places also proved popular.
Wang Wei, deputy mayor of Yiwu, said that Yiwu has established friendly relations with 34 foreign cities. It was also selected to host the 2023 Asia-Pacific Member Conference of the United Cities and Local Governments, which is expected to help Yiwu carry out exchanges and cooperation with more overseas cities.
