Deals worth over 1 b yuan made at Yiwu Forest Product Fair

The four-day 15th China Yiwu International Forest Product Fair that concluded in Yiwu on Nov 8 saw a total turnover of 1.03 billion yuan ($144.46 million), of which 246 million yuan was made by foreign buyers, according to organizers.

The event saw the participation of 61,000 merchants from 20 countries and regions, including Yemen, Pakistan, Egypt, and Russia.

A total of 1,331 enterprises from 18 Chinese provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions displayed their products at the 50,000-square-meter exhibition area. Over 100,000 kinds of goods from various industries, including furniture and accessories, wood and bamboo decorations, handicrafts, daily necessities, health food, tea-related products, flower gardening, forestry equipment and technology, and outdoor equipment and accessories, were exhibited at 2,075 international standard booths.

Ten special exhibition zones were set up at this year's fair to promote products under the themes of common prosperity and regional cooperation, as well as fine works of outdoor equipment, wood-carving, bamboo carving, Chinese herbal medicine, and tea.

A total of 22 booths in the common prosperity exhibition area benefited from preferential policies to reduce booth fees to help exhibitors showcase their works related to achieving common prosperity in Zhejiang province. The regional cooperation exhibition area also attracted 347 enterprises from 26 counties in mountainous areas of the province. The two exhibition areas achieved a total of 150 million yuan in intentional turnover during the fair.

The China Yiwu International Forest Product Fair, first launched in 2008, has received 3.7 million buyers from more than 100 countries and regions.
