All districts of the Yiwu International Trade Market that were closed due to epidemic prevention and control measures resumed normal operations on Aug 18, according to its management department.

People entering the market must wear masks, scan a QR code, have their temperatures taken, and provide negative nucleic acid test results from within 24 hours.

In the early morning, Jin Wenying, who sells accessories in District 1 of the Yiwu International Trade Market, received a foreign businessman from Iraq who has been living in Yiwu for 19 years and runs a foreign trade company exporting about 100 containers of goods annually.

The expat said what he wanted fluently, checked the raw materials, and took pictures and videos for his overseas clients, saying that it has been a long time since he has made orders online in light of the epidemic.

Wang Xiangrong, general manager of the operation company of the Yiwu International Trade Market, said that due to the global epidemic, most merchants have turned to e-commerce platforms to promote their products and communicate with buyers. Their Chinagoods platform has also organized a series of online matchmaking meetings oriented to buyers from different countries and regions and provided the latest global trade information for users.

In order to curb the spread of COVID-19, all public places in the city have been closed for three days except for medical institutions and entities that provide for people's basic daily living needs.
