A Boeing B737-800 plane operated by China Southern Airlines landed at the Yiwu Airport at 2:40 pm on July 15, marking the official opening of the flight between Yiwu, East China's Zhejiang province and Xuzhou, East China's Jiangsu province.

China Southern Airlines will operate one flight a day from Yiwu to Xuzhou starting July 15, with a preferential ticket price of about 370 yuan ($54.85) during the summer vacation.

Xuzhou is now a hub for equipment and intelligent manufacturing, renewable energy, biomedicine and health. As both important cities carry out foreign trade with countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, they are expected to deepen cooperation in economy and culture in the future.

Yiwu Airport currently operates a total of 28 domestic air routes, covering 30 cities including Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Chengdu, Kunming, Guiyang, Yinchuan, Zhengzhou, Urumqi, Zhuhai and Sanya.

The airport also noted that passengers with travel plans must stay up to date on the latest epidemic prevention and control policies in their destination city and on the status of their flight.
