Yiwu business program wants South Korean youth

A total of 30 young people from South Korea are wanted to take part in this year's "Run with Yiwu" Global Youth Business Program, according to a recent announcement from the organizers.

The event, sponsored by the local government of Yiwu and the Embassy of South Korea in China, will be held in Yiwu, Zhejiang province from July 17 to 21, inviting South Koreans aged between 18 to 35 to gain a practical understanding of various fields such as e-commerce, international trade, and industrial supply chains.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Republic of Korea. South Korea is an important trading partner of Yiwu, which is also home to among the most South Korean business people of any city in China.

The "Run with Yiwu" Global Youth Business Program initiated by the local government of Yiwu in April 2018 aims to share business opportunities and experience with young people across the world under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Activities provided by the program include lectures on e-commerce and trade, site visits, company internships, startup workshops, and cultural exchange.

After years of efforts, the program has provided training for 243 young people from over 60 countries across the world.
