The 4th "Lu Yanshao Award" National Chinese Painting Award-winning Works Exhibition opened at the Yiwu Qimo Art Gallery on May 20. It was previously held in Hangzhou.

The exhibition displays 46 award-winning and selected works of modern Chinese painting that were in competition for the 4th "Lu Yanshao Award". Out of a total of about 2,000 entries, 226 works were selected to compete for one gold award, three silver awards, six bronze awards and 31 excellence awards.

A visitor surnamed Wang said he would like to learn the latest painting techniques at the exhibition.

Wang said he thought that the "Lu Yanshao Award" was the most prestigious honor for Chinese painting, especially among landscape paintings, which look great from a distance and full of details when seen close up.

Lu Yanshao (1909-1993), born in Nanxiang town, Jiading district, Shanghai is a renowned contemporary calligrapher, artist and educator. He is also known as a great landscape painter.

The "Lu Yanshao Award" has been held every two years since 2015, allowing Chinese painters and sculptors to interact and discuss modern Chinese painting.

The exhibition will be open every day except Mondays until June 8 at the Yiwu Qimo Art Gallery.
