Every morning, Jin Chunhe drives a garbage truck equipped with a smart monitor system for garbage sorting around Longhua village in Suxi town, Yiwu, Zhejiang province.
Jin moves the trash bins outside villagers' houses onto a smart scale on the truck and then scans the QR codes on the bins so that all garbage sorting data is immediately input into the monitor system.
According to Jin, the trash bins for each household are installed with a smart chip, which records the real name of the house owner. Villagers who excel in garbage sorting are awarded credits that can be exchanged for groceries that can be picked up from the village's administrative office. Villagers can check their credits by scanning the QR codes on the bins.
This smart management model for garbage sorting was introduced in Yiwu at the beginning of this year, ensuring that all local villagers are aware of garbage sorting requirements and 95 percent of them correctly sort their garbage.
