Chen Wangdao

Chen Wangdao (1891-1977), originally called Chen Canyi, was from Fenshuitang village in Yiwu city. He returned home in 1920 and finished the first Chinese translation of The Communist Manifesto. Chen was also one of the founders of Chinese Communist Party. He attended the first Political Consultative Conference of PRC in 1949. In 1952, he was appointed principal of Fudan University by Chairman Mao Zedong.
