Yiwu, the world's leading small commodities market and a county-level city of Jinhua, Zhejiang province, opened a goods pavilion in Wenchuan, Sichuan province on June 28 to help boost the latter's trade and promote its industrial transformation.

The pavilion, located in the core business district of Wenchuan, covers an area of around 600 square meters and houses more than 3,600 products such as toys, sporting goods, textiles and stationery from Yiwu and around the world that are being sold at affordable prices.

The pavilion, jointly built by the Zhejiang Chinese Small Commodities City Group and the Wenchuan Chuanqinggan Plateau Logistics Industrial Park, is part of Yiwu's efforts to help Wenchuan eradicate poverty.

Though the cities are more than 2,000 kilometers apart, Yiwu has in recent years been helping Wenchuan to develop its local industries and bolster its exports and social assistance.

The pavilion will integrate wholesale and retail businesses and act as a wholesale and retail platform that can help Wenchuan develop itself into an important trade and logistics hub in northwest Sichuan.
