Qingyanliu village in Yiwu, Zhejiang province, became the first village in Zhejiang province to achieve full 5G coverage, with broadband and WiFi speeds both exceeding 100 Mb/s, local media reported on April 26.

"My brown sugar is the purest and of the highest quality. Order before 10:00 am and you'll get a complimentary package of fried dough twists," said one local villager during a 5G-powered live stream on April 24.

Cooperation between the Jinhua branch of China Mobile and the Qingyanliu village government first started seven years ago. Houses throughout the village have become the headquarters for over 20,000 Taobao traders, earning the village the nickname 'Taobao village'.

In March, China Mobile installed over 20 5G base stations in order to realize full 5G coverage, increasing both broadband and WiFi speeds to over 100 Mb/s.

In addition to hardware upgrades, other services including cloud storage, 5G-powered livestreams, and online offices, will make e-commerce and live streaming in Qingyanliu more efficient, said Mao Shengping, Party secretary of the village.
