The Yiwu Foreign Affairs Office attended an online meeting held by the United Cities and Local Governments on April 23 and shared Yiwu's experiences in dealing with the epidemic and resuming its economy.

The other attendees included representatives from the United Nations Development Programme, government officials from New Zealand, and the municipal government of Xi'an. Topics included building online platforms, formulating support policies, and giving money to households in urgent need.

Yiwu joined the United Cities and Local Governments in December 2017 and entered its World Council and Executive Bureau in September 2019, presenting the city with opportunities to cooperate with 1,000 member cities from 140 countries.
