With the reopening of Yiwu markets and the resumption of work, many resident foreign merchants and foreign buyers are returning to the city, meaning the demand is increasing for volunteers speaking foreign languages to aid in epidemic control work.

To provide targeted services for foreigners in Yiwu, the Foreign Affairs Office is now recruiting volunteers who speak foreign languages. Yiwu is home to a large number of high-level foreign language professionals.

The city will provide the opportunity for selfless individuals to make use of their abilities to do some good for the city which is home to millions of domestic and foreign business people.

Volunteer requirements

1.Fluent in English, Korean, Arabic, Russian, Spanish or French, Foreign nationals should be able to carry out daily communications in Chinese.

2.Have a strong sense of responsibility and team spirit.

3.Aged between 18-50 with good health.

4.Have no symptoms of respiratory infection such as fever, cough, chest distress, etc. in the past month, no travel history in severe epidemic afflicted countries or Hubei province in China, no history of contact with confirmed cases or their close contacts. Personnel who have the above mentioned conditions will not be selected as volunteers for the time being.

5.Ready to accept work assignments and cooperate with authorities.

6.Have a high awareness of self-protection.

7.Experience in foreign-related affairs is preferred.

Job Description

Time: From now to the end of the epidemic.

Location: Yiwu

Online Service: Phone communication, translation and epidemic consultation.    

Offline Service: Publicity work for epidemic control at the railway station and airport, language service at community homes and hotel isolation points, and interpretation services for epidemic control staff and foreigners.
