Xiuhu Lake Park is in the southwest of Yiwu and occupies 7.2 hectares. It is part of Yiwu’s old city reconstruction project which was carried out in 2000.

In the old days, Xiuhu Lake, also known as Xiuchuan Lake, boasted eight scenes featuring a sunset, an evening bell, flower and willow, a painted pleasure boat, a lake pavilion, a bridge, a moon-falling and flying gulls. The well-preserved Da’an Temple Pagoda, standing on the bank of the lake, was built in 1110 during the Song Dynasty (960-1279). The buildings in the park are in the style of the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, and aim to representing the aesthetic feelings of the eight views.
