Yiwu International Trade Market Area 5 was put into use on May 5, 2011. The market covers 266.2 mu (17.7 hectares), with a construction area of 640,000 sq m and a total investment of 1.42 billion yuan. It consists of five floors above ground and two floors below ground and is home to more than 7,000 stores.

The area mainly deals in bedding, hair products, needles, textiles, curtains, wedding articles, raw materials for knitting, distribution of commodities, pet (aquarium) supplies and automobile parts. There is also a special zone for online business services.

Located on the fifth floor of the market, the online business service area has more than 560 booths, bringing together well-known e-commerce service providers such as online trading platforms, operation agents, photography, information technology, logistics, finance and e-commerce enterprises that grow out of traditional enterprises, mixed wholesale e-commerce firms, small online traders, and brand commodity e-commerce service providers. It has formed a complete e-commerce industrial chain. In June 2015, the Ministry of Commerce named the zone a national e-commerce demonstration base.
