A delegation of foreign diplomats visited Yiwu on June 19 as part of the "2024 Visa Officers Tour Zhejiang" program. Known as the world's capital of small commodities, Yiwu showcased Zhejiang's high-quality development and the practice of Chinese modernization.

The delegation included 21 consulate officials from 13 countries, including Mileidy Aguirre Diaz, Consul General of Cuba in Shanghai, and Jose Marti Alvarez Hidalgo, Consul General of Costa Rica in Shanghai.

Yiwu trades with over 230 countries and regions and has established friendly relations with 38 cities in 24 countries.

Meleidi thanked Yiwu for its warm hospitality and shared insights into Cuba's economic and social landscape. She praised Yiwu's innovative development in the new energy sector and expressed hope of further strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation.

During their visit, the delegation toured key sites such as the Yiwu International Trade Market, and the Global Digital Trade Center Exhibition Hall. They learned about Yiwu's market development and digital economy and participated in a business exchange meeting to discuss practical cooperation.

This visit is part of the "2024 Visa Officers Tour Zhejiang" program, a significant foreign exchange initiative being carried out by the province. The program aims to showcase Zhejiang's achievements in building a common prosperity and modernization pilot zone, enhance global understanding of Zhejiang, and facilitate smoother visa processes for foreign nationals, helping local citizens and enterprises engage more effectively with the world.
