In the first quarter of 2024, Yiwu's livestreaming commerce skyrocketed, with over 190,000 sessions generating a staggering 12.75 billion yuan ($1.76 billion) in sales. This represented a significant increase from the previous year, with a 33.57-percent rise in sessions and a 26.25-percent boost in revenue.

Livestreaming has become a transformative force for Yiwu's small and medium enterprises, propelling market expansion and business innovation.

Merchants like Fu Jiangyan have adapted swiftly to this trend. By leveraging platforms such as Douyin and Kuaishou, she has turned her sock business into a thriving online enterprise.

Yiwu's digital commerce landscape is flourishing thanks to its diverse range of consumer goods and the city's strategic support. The city's market development committee's initiatives have catalyzed the growth of live commerce, with policies aimed at nurturing this burgeoning sector.

The city's infrastructure now includes over 70 livestreaming service organizations and over 3,000 internet celebrity broadcasters, supported by a workforce of over 80,000 industry professionals.

Yiwu's pioneering efforts in live commerce education and certification further cement its status as a leader in the digital economy, setting a national standard for the industry's development. With these advancements, Yiwu is poised to continue its ascent as a hub of live commerce innovation.
